Mark Hanson
A native of Minnesota, Mark Hanson is known as the long-term, but now retired, Ski & Snowboard School Director at Grand Targhee Resort. In his tenure, the school grew exponentially by focusing on helping both students and staff grow as skiers and riders, but also as people.
Prior to his many years at Grand Targhee, where he still teaches skiing full-time each winter, Mark prepared for the Director role with a Business degree from the University of Minnesota and 11+ years in the corporate world as a commercial insurance broker and later as an advertising rep for KUGN in Eugene, Oregon. A life of team sports also helped Mark develop his strong sense of teamwork and collaboration.
Later, Mark founded and operated a youth recreation program in North Carolina, which gave access to outdoor recreation pursuits to hundreds of kids over the years.
He proudly served as two-term board president of preeminent area non-profit, Teton Valley Trails and Pathways.
Mark resides in Driggs with his wife, Nell, and their two grown daughters nearby, including Lydia, a charter member of this board.
